The Importance of Updating your Website!
Hello again ;)
We've been creating websites for over 10 years. Throughout this time we've seen a number of our clients leaving their website content alone for weeks, or even months without updates.
Content is what drives web, and what drives good search results. We encourage all of our clients, and absolutely anyone that owns a website and can manage their own content to make updates as much as possible. Quality content plays a big role in the success of your website and its search engine ranking.
A couple months back (in March), google had released their Panda Algorithm update which has actually encouraged quality content on the web, and punished poor content. A couple quick tips for ensuring your website has great positioning after it has been developed:
1) Keep your updates to 500+ words as much as possible. Short "Twitter-Like" updates won't get you too far
2) Try to keep your keyword density to 4-5%; don't over do it with keywords and certainly don't exclude any from your content as well
3) Try to make regular updates; weekly if possible, however bi-weekly or even monthly is better than nothing
At ETMG we have begun offering in-house content, SEO, and Social Media Marketing services whereby one of our team members will work closely with your staff, or independently on location optimizing your website after development. Typically our staff will remain in house at your location for a period of 8 - 12 weeks, however the term may be extended. For more information on this please contact Adam Evans - (416) 628 9411 x9904, or email Adam(at)Thoughtmedia.com.
